Do I need a GP referral to come to Physio?
If you are self funding your physiotherapy treatment you do not need a GP referral. However, if you are claiming through your private medical insurance you will need to check your policy requirements as in many cases a GP referral will be necessary.
I have had a back problem for years. My GP says there is nothing they can offer me – can I still come to see you?
Yes, please do come to see us for an up to date musculoskeletal assessment and review of your issues. We will be able to give you an honest appraisal of whether our physiotherapy team can be of benefit to you. In most cases there are strategies and new developments in treatment that can help you improve and manage your condition better.
Do you have parking? Are there any charges? What if I cycle ?
Yes, we have free parking in marked bays directly in front of the clinic, plus 2 bike racks.
How long will my appointment be?
For a musculoskeletal problem (such as a back, neck or knee issue) your initial consultation and any follow ups you require are up to 40 minutes.
If you are attending for an appointment about a Women’s or Men’s Health issue we allow up to an hour for your initial consultation and 40 minutes for follow up sessions.
Home visits usually last for 40 minutes.
Who specialises in what?

I have been told that I need to strengthen my core. Is this something you can do?
Yes, we can help you to develop from any starting level.
Beginners can develop an understanding of what is meant by ‘core’ with a first level exercise programme. However, if you have already started training, we can develop your techniques and repertoire until you reach higher levels of advanced core stability.
1:1 programmes can be tailored to be sports specific. We can develop an exercise programme to complement your gym, personal training, coaching or other leisure activities.
Do I need to wear anything special or bring anything with me?
In order for your physiotherapist to fully assess you it will be necessary for you to remove the appropriate clothing. You may wish to bring a pair of shorts with you.
It is always helpful to us if you can bring recent scans, investigation results and information about any medication.
Do you do running assessments?
Yes we do these outside.
Do I have to come to you or can you come to me?
We prefer it if you are able to come to the clinic as we have height adjustable treatment couches and all our equipment is based here. However, we understand that this is not always feasible and we can come to see you in your home.
