Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and orofacial pain

Myalgia – pain from muscles and connective tissues, felt in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ / jaw
joint), or referred to the jaw bone, face, temple, ear or neck.

Arthralgia – degenerative or inflammatory changes in the jaw joint, causing limited jaw movement.

Headache attributed to TMD – a particular type of headache, usually in the temple region.

TMJ disc displacement – a structural issue within the joint which causes joint noises and/or locking.
Trauma – direct trauma to the jaw, or head
